Nurses Week is celebrated here at UC San Francisco and globally from May 6 through May 12, 2021. Over the past year – and more! – nurses at UCSF Radiology have been instrumental in making more changes to meet new challenges brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic. They continue to be flexible and innovative as we move toward modern nursing in radiology of the future.
Radiology nursing itself is a specialty within nursing. Technology and imaging advances have made radiology a growing field, and with the growth of radiology services here at UCSF, we have added special roles for nurses:
- Nurse practitioners (NPs) are essential to the care of patients having diagnostic and interventional procedures.
