Wednesday, May 6, is National Nurses Day and marks the beginning of National Nurses Week.
Reflecting on the healing and deeply personal care that the radiology nursing teams provide every day for our patients, I am reminded that the noble profession of nursing predates the practice of radiology by many centuries. The field has a storied legacy, which I see put into practice every day by our nurses who represent a true pillar of pride for our department. Nursing is truly integral to our work. Our nurses embrace, with expertise and thoughtfulness, their roles as passionate advocates for patient care, educators of patients and their families, partners in complex diagnosis and care management, and researchers advancing the field of radiology.
