Each year thousands of people participate in walks in our area to raise awareness for Alzheimer’s Disease, and promote research and the importance of drug therapies. Experts share that, in the Delaware Valley, nearly 300,000 people are affected by Alzheimer’s or a related disorder and every 66 seconds, someone in the U.S. develops the disease. Host, Jennifer Lewis-Hall’s guests include Dr. Carol Lippa, who is a member of the Board of Directors for the Alzheimer’s Association, Delaware Valley Chapter. Guest Claire Day shares her insights on the organization and its push to boost awareness and funding for the disease. Day is the Vice President of the Alzheimer’s Association, Delaware Valley Chapter. And sharing his personal story about being diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease at just 51 years old is Jeff Borghoff, a husband and father who tells us how and when he was diagnosed and talks about his current participation in a clinical trial. Borghoff is an advisor for the National Early-Stage Advisory Group for the Alzheimer’s Association. In Focus airs Saturday mornings on PHL17.
