Magnetic resonance image-based brain age as a discriminator of dementia conversion in patients with amyloid-negative amnestic mild cognitive impairment

The Institutional Review Board (IRB) of the Asan Medical Center waived the need for informed consent for the study. And the protocol of this study was also approved by IRB of the Asan Medical Center (#2019-0738). The study was performed in accordance with relevant guidelines and regulations. Also, we state that no live animals were used in this study.

Participants

A total of 211 patients with amyloid-negative amnestic MCI with the following inclusion criteria who visited the memory clinic of Asan Medical Center from March 2013 to March 2016 were recruited: (1) age over 50 years with at least a 36-month follow-up period; (2) MCI defined by the criteria proposed by Petersen24,25; and (3) no visual evidence of amyloid deposition in amyloid positron emission tomography…
