Use of bladder antimuscarinics is associated with an increased risk of dementia: a retrospective population-based case–control study

Data resource

The dataset used in this study was derived from the National Health Insurance Research Database (NHIRD) in Taiwan, which covers approximately 99% of the entire population of 23 million people in Taiwan. The Longitudinal Health Insurance Database (LHID) includes all original claims data and registration files from 2000 to 2013 for one million individuals randomly sampled from the Registry for Beneficiaries of the NHIRD program in 2000 in Taiwan. This database has been validated by several studies11,12,13, to prove the correct coding of different diseases.
