Nola Hylton, PhD and Duan Xu, PhD have been inducted into the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering (AIMBE) College of Fellows, Class of 2021. This is among one of the highest professional distinctions given to medical and biological engineers.
Dr. Hylton is a professor in Residence in the UC San Francisco Department of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging, and director of the Breast Imaging Research Group. She has been integrally involved in the development of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) for the detection, diagnosis and staging of breast cancer. She was nominated, reviewed and elected by peers and members of the College of Fellows based on the following:
