Lee Ann Womack reinvents “Dreaming My Dreams With You” for the Alzheimer Association “Music Moments” album. In this behind-the-scenes video, Womack shares her personal connection to the song and her thoughts on the power of music to connect us to life’s important moments.
“This is just a song that takes me back.”
Filled with the musical flavor of east Texas, Lee Ann Womack’s six albums have yielded international chart-topping singles including “I Hope You Dance,” six Country Music Association Awards, a Grammy Award and countless other accolades. On “Music Moments,” Womack invites listeners into a personal moment with “Dreaming My Dreaming With You” — a song that she and her dad both loved.
Womack has seen the devastating effects of Alzheimer’s disease firsthand, but hopes her contribution to the album can help soften the blow. “A lot of times things seem insurmountable,” she says, “and then you hear a great song and all of a sudden you feel like, ‘Okay, this is doable. This is something that we can handle.’”
