Band of Horses: Annie | Alzheimer’s Association

Ben Bridwell from Band of Horses reinvents “Annie” for the Alzheimer’s Association “Music Moments” album. In this behind-the-scenes video, Bridwell shares his personal connection to the song and his thoughts on the power of music to connect us to life’s important moments.

“Music is where I draw my memory from.”

Ben Bridwell is the lead singer of Band of Horses, an American rock band with five studio albums, including 2010’s Grammy-nominated “Infinite Arms.” A South Carolina native, Bridwell has used music as a touchstone for his entire life story. “Music is where I draw my memory from … there’s nothing like hearing a song to take you back.”

Pete Townshend and Ronnie Lane’s song, “Annie,” captivated Bridwell from the start — so much so that he recorded his own version to uplift his friend Annie as she fought her battle with cancer. Bridwell hopes that this song brings awareness around Alzheimer’s disease and comfort to caregivers.
