Each year, Alzheimer’s and other dementias increasingly impact older Americans, their families, and communities and escalate government expenditures. More than ever, public health has a critical role to play in changing the course of dementia.
During the webinar, several national organizations — including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the National Association of State and Territorial Health Officials (ASTHO), and the National Association of Chronic Disease Directors (NACDD) — outlined the burden and public health impact of dementia while the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services and the New York State Department of Health highlighted state-level public health efforts to address Alzheimer’s and other dementias.
