From UCSF MSBI Graduate to Research Associate at UCSF Radiology: Hear from Ravi Chachad, MS

Ravi Chachad, MS is a research associate in the Musculoskeletal Magnetic Resonance Imaging Lab, also known as the Krug Lab. The lab’s main research interest relates to the assessment (using MRI) and treatment (using MR guided Focused UltraSound FUS) of lower back pain. Roland Krug, PhD is the principal investigator (PI).

“In the Krug Lab, I am starting to conduct spine scans on volunteers to create a robust protocol for then scanning patients with low back pain in the near future,” Chachad says. “I am then taking these images and segmenting the endplates in the lumbar spine.”

Chachad graduated from the Master of Science in Biomedical Imaging (MSBI) program at the UC San Francisco Department of Biomedical Imaging in September 2019.
